Marsha was born in Tacoma, Washington and raised in Manhattan Beach, California.
As a child she loved drawing and music. Family vacations were spent
traveling east of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Mountains from
southern California to Washington, where she learned to love nature and
the wilderness.
Marsha attended UCLA and graduated with a B.A. in French with
a minor in German. She traveled extensively in Europe between
1967 and 1981 where she applied her linguistic skills. She earned
a M.A. in French with a Spanish minor from Cal State Fullerton.
She returned to the Northwest in 1981 and settled in Eugene, Oregon in
1984, where she’s put down deep roots. After finding
work, she began to resurrect her dormant love of drawing. In 1993
she realized she had a desire to add some color to her hobby. Having
particularly enjoyed works done in watercolor, she took a beginning
class at a local community college in January of 1994, and has been obsessed with it
ever since.
Marsha is continually evolving as a painter. She has worked hard
to express her love of nature’s creations through her own
work. For her, it’s not enough to be technically proficient
as an artist. Her goal is to express through watercolor not
only what she sees, but also her feelings for the mystery and beauty
of the natural world. With every creation, she works to touch
the hearts of her audience by literally painting through the eyes
of love.
